Kim Jordan
teacher
she/her
Kim Jordan (she/her) sees her yoga on the mat as a grounding, foundational practice
for yoga that meets her in struggle, ease, illness, wellness, and individual transformation
in the spirit of collective freedom for all beings everywhere. She believes that a daily
yoga practice integrating embodied mindfulness and self-inquiry can connect the
wisdom of the body, intelligence of the mind, and kindness of the heart toward skillful
growth, healing, community care, and living truthfully through life - in all its privileges
and injustices. Kim is honored to facilitate educational offerings at LRY with an
orientation toward yoga beyond the mat; she facilitates workshops and trainings about
consent culture, bodily autonomy, boundaries, power, accountability, and yoga as a
practice of restorative and transformative justice.
Kim has been practicing yoga since 1998 and received her Yoga Alliance 200-hour
teacher certification in 2017 from Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy & Therapeutic Yoga.
She has trained with the Prison Yoga Project and Liberation Prison Yoga in trauma-
informed teaching for incarcerated populations, and most recently she was a student of
LRY’s 2024 Teacher Enhancement Program. Diagnosed with breast cancer in late
2023, yoga continues to be a healing, grounding, and elevating force throughout
treatment and beyond. She lives in Winooski with her brilliant wife, Sarah, and their two
rascally cats. For joy she participates in playwriting workshops, meditation retreats, 30-
day yoga challenges, backyard bonfires, camping in Vermont State Parks, summer
canoe adventures, and napping without apology.
